Shield Generators (For Ships)
A ship can have no more than one shield generator. Ship hulls have a maximum
shield level. The shield power can not be raised beyond the hull`s rated maximum
level. You can place on a ship a shield generator that has a maximum power
that is greater than what the hull is rated for, but if you do the shield power
will only be raised to what the hull is rated for and no higher.
Shields drain some power from the ship`s engines and generators.
If a ship has shield generator damage the shields will only be raised part
way. For example: If a Crane X80 has 80% damage it will only be able to raise to a
level of 16 shield points.
Damage to shield generators and any other ship system ( other than armor ) can
be repaired using ship repair units.
