Hyper Drives
Hyperjump: Ships that have and can use a hyperjump engine will jump if the hyperjump
switch is on. The jump takes place before normal movement and is limited to one
jump per turn. The ship will jump in the direction of way point 1. If the
distance to way point 1 is less than the maximum jump rating for the jump engine on a
hull of this size the ship will end up exactly at way point 1. If way point 1
at a greater distance than what the jump engine is capable of, the ship will
jump as far as possible in the direction of way point 1. After jumping the ship
will continue to travel along its way points using subspace engines. A ship can
be knocked out of hyperspace or be prevented from using its hyperdrive jump
engine by gravitonic minefields and gravity well generators. Ships that are able to
hyperjump have a rating known as the hyperjump L class rating. Ships that have
a hull mass of less than 75 kt are rated class L1. Ships with a hull that has
a mass from 75 to 299 kt are rated class L2 and ship with a hull mass of 300 kt
and up are rated class L3 jump ships. Before installing a hyperdrive in a ship
be sure to look up its L jump class and choose a jump engine that will work
with its L class rating.

Note: The L Class of a ship depends on the ship`s hull mass. The base mass is the mass of
the just the hull before any parts or cargo have been added.
L1 DX: Ship hulls with a mass of less than 75 kt. The maximum distance that your
ship will jump with this jump drive.
L1 N: The amount of fuel each jump will burn.
L2 DX: Ship hulls with a mass of 75 kt to 299kt. The maximum distance that your
ship will jump with this jump drive.
L2 N: The amount of fuel each jump will burn.
L3 DX: Ship hulls with a mass of 300 kt or more. The maximum distance that your
ship will jump with this jump drive.
L3 N: The amount of fuel each jump will burn.
The minimum hyper jump distance is 3 light years.
Tech Cost: The cost to reach this new tech level. In addition to paying this you must
already be at the tech level just below this tech level. For example: If you are
currently at tech level 8 in large ship weapons and you wish to go up a tech
level the cost is 100mc. You can only buy the next tech level and you can not
increase your tech level in any one area faster than one level a turn
