A Pod Launch Pad can send any of the following pods into space at a cost of 25MC each.
The speed that a pod travels varies from race to race. A Fed pod for example travels at
a speed of 20LY a turn. A pod can be launched at any target object and will travel to
the (X,Y) of where the object was at the time of launch. The course of a pod can
not be changed once the pod has been launched. The pod will not change course if
the object it was launched at moves. Pods are easy targets for enemy ships to pick off.
Ion storms can send them off course. Pods are much safer when stored in the cargo holds
of ships. You can choose to have the pod simply go into orbit around the planet it was
launched from and wait to be picked up by a friendly ship. Pods have a limited power supply.
When the power supply runs out the pod and its cargo are lost.


Assault Pod

Carries Troops, Ground Assault Craft and Space Fighters

Carries Metals, Money and Ship Plans


"Gold Pod"
(Smuggler's Treasure Pod)

Carries money, ship plans and contraband items

Life Pod

Carries Colonists or Enemy Prisoniers. Can C-Freeze
passengers to save weight and space and greatly
increase the number of passengers that the
pod can hold


Native Pod

Carries Native lifeforms.
*** Warning: Do not place Chupanoid or Amorphous
natives on pods with other native types on board ***


Ore Pod

Carries any mix of the 4 common ore types. Can hold
up to 1000KT of ore per pod.


Outfit Pod

Carries ship parts, like engines, shields, generators,
armor and weapons. Old parts removed from a ship
can be stored in this pod and used over again on
another ship or taken to a base for storeage.


Resupply Pod

Carries items a ship or base needs such as food,
med units, supplies, mega credits, fuel, repair units
and combat ordnance.
